Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your computer. It allows our website to “remember” you and your preferences. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a text file stored on your hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
Many users prefer to use persistent cookies to help them navigate a website as seamlessly as possible. Cookies contain no more information than you volunteer, and they are not able to “invade” your hard drive and return to the sender personal or other information from your computer.
Cookies are used to manage sessions on our website. Users must enable cookies to use our website. Also, users may optionally use a cookie to remember their password in order to automatically log in to our website. We do not and will not use cookies to collect private information from any user which they did not intentionally submit to us.
This privacy policy covers the use of cookies by Cambridge Rollerbillies and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers. You and your browser control the existence and use of advertiser cookies in connection with all of the websites you visit.
Google analytics
When someone visits our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
Mailing lists
We do not sell or share personal details to third parties for the purposes of marketing.
If we run an event or fundraising activity, it may require the service of a third party and then we might need to share your details with them. This would happen if your data was required to deliver the specific activity, for example we would share your data with an mass email service such as Mailchimp. In this case your data is encrypted and not shared with anyone externally.
We may contact our supporters who have consented to receive emails in order to market our events, fundraising opportunities, and other ways to get involved with Cambridge Rollerbillies, including occasionally third-party events or activities that may be of interest to you by the appropriate means and in accordance with the GDPR and the PECR.
We use third party providers including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter to promote our events, courses and other news about our team. We may gather statistics about post views, audience reach, likes, and clicks in order to understand our reach and appeal to the community. We don’t share any of this information outside of our organisation. For more information please see Facebook’s privacy notice, and Twitter’s privacy notice.
How long we keep your personal information
The period for which we keep your information depends on the purpose for which your information was collected and the use. We will not keep your personal information for longer than necessary for those purposes or for any other legal requirements.
We review all data retention periods every two years. Data collected for accounts purposes are kept for seven years plus an additional period of six months. You can request your data to be forgotten and we will delete all your data other than anything we have to retain for legal reasons.
Your rights
You have a right to ask us to stop processing your personal data, as long as it is not necessary for the purpose you provided it to us for (e.g. processing your purchase or you are a current member).
You can exercise your right to prevent your data being used for marketing purposes by checking ‘no’ tick boxes on the forms we use to collect your data for these purposes.
You have a right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you. We will need to confirm your identity in order to do so. If there are any discrepancies in the information we provide, please let us know and we will correct them.
You have the ‘right to be forgotten’. This means that as long as the personal data we hold is no longer required for the purposes you supplied it to us, or is not legally required to be held by us, then we will delete all personal information about you from all systems owned by Cambridge Rollerbillies. We do not control data storage in the third parties we use, so if you wish to be forgotten for these sights please refer to the relevant privacy policies.
